I was in the Grand Traverse Mall recently. I haven’t been in there in years. And whoa. It’s deserted. Fortunately, you can still get a pretzel but I think our days are numbered on that.
Commercial retail space is still a thing, so I don’t quite understand what the rental structures of the mall are that they can’t attract tenants. I’m waiting for a legal professional to run with this business model:
Also around town, I see that Traverse City West has a backhoe sitting out there ready to go. Let that be a warning to the new spirit rock.
