Brad Jany, Mason County Corrections Deputy Facing Charges; Parallels to Todd Ritter

Mason Couty Corrections Deputy Brad Jany is facing felony criminal charges. The allegations are that he had a sexual relationship with someone he met while working in the jail.

The allegations regarding Jany surfaced in October. He was charged in late February.

The Todd Ritter allegations have been ongoing for so much longer. The allegations date back to at least May, 2019. They’re only just now sending the case to a special prosecutor for consideration of charges. Why did it take so much longer for Grand Traverse to investigate, prepare a police report and refer it to a special prosecutor?

(If Sue Kelly is correct, the Attorney General will just decline the matter anyways, because coronavirus.)

  1. I also find it telling that when “they” commit crimes, the “investigation” takes a very long time…..but we the regular folks get arrested, charged, tried, convicted and punished all within a very, very short timeframe……what are they hiding?

  2. I wonder if he’ll try for a change venue to GT county so he only would have to worry about dying of old age before going to trial.
