Steffi Brasington was a Clare County Probate County employee. That is, until she fled from a police officer and drove drunk.
One member of the public commented that a court employee should know better. Preach.
According to the Morning Sun, it wasn’t even her first drunk driving offense. She admitted that it was her second drunk driving offense.
A drunk driving offense carries a mandatory minimum jail term, even though it is short, at only 5 days. That’s essentially a day or two for your time in the drunk tank and then another weekend.
Brasington resigned from her position and a deputy got promoted.
And yes, the people who are in the business of judging others should be expected to obey the laws themselves. Seems pretty basic, but that’s just me.
